A Florida woman became an instant millionaire after winning $5,000,000 from a scratch-off game the state provides.
On Friday, Janice Velez, a 60-year-old resident of Kissimmee, Florida, walked away with $5 million prize after winning the $5,000,000 CASHWORD Scratch-Off game. The winner claimed her prize at the Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee, leaving with a big smile.
Velez said she decided to purchase a Scratch-Off ticket from the RaceTrac store located on Pleasant Hill Road in Kissimmee, and as fate would have it, her ticket was a winner. The retailer who sold her the ticket will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for contributing to her good fortune.
She decided to receive her prize as a single lump-sum payment of $3,915,000.00.
